Barve himself officially announced Pahadpangira, which is set for release in 2026 through his social media handle. If everything goes as planned, it will be released in 2026 for sure. At the moment, we don’t have details about the cast and crew. Additionally, Barve hasn’t shared an exact release date, as the date might shift.

Is Pahadpangira the Sequel to Tumbbad?
Many are confused whether Pahadpangira is the second part of Tumbbad. Let’s clear the confusion: it is not a direct continuation of Tumbbad. Rahi Anil Barve has been working on a trilogy of films — Tumbbad, Pahadpangira, and Pakshitirtha — for several years. Tumbbad was finally released and received overwhelming love from audiences, but there are still two more projects Barve plans to complete.
Pahadpangira will be the second film in the originally planned trilogy, but it is not directly related to Tumbbad.
When Rahi made his exit from Tumbbad, he shared:
“For decades, I worked on this insane trilogy with many producers changing along the way. The first part dealt with the greed of patriarchy — my personal and much darker version of father, son, and the holy ghost.
The second film explores the dawn of feminism and the holier-than-thou satipratha — ‘Pahadpangira’. The third, the final chapter of this trilogy, will be Pakshitirtha. That’s all I have to say for now.
Rahi Anil Barve Upcoming Lineup
A few days ago, Rahi was not well-known, but Tumbbad’s success earned him the recognition he truly deserved. Now, the director has some very interesting projects lined up for the coming years.
Apart from Pahadpangira, he is directing a fantasy film titled Mayasabha, which revolves around a theatre owner living in a rotten theater. Additionally, he is working on two television series: Gulkanda Tales and Rakht Brahmand.
Reports suggest that Rahi and Ekta Kapoor have joined hands for a feature film. The script is currently under development, and further details are being kept under wraps. Once the script is finalized, an official announcement will be made.
